【TVB潮進大灣區】 Imsight Interview: “Hong Kong is Startups’ launch pad to enter the global market”

In December 2020, TVB interviewed the Director of Imsight, Mr Chapman Lee, regarding the company’s technical and corporate development. Lee also shared the company’s roles and strategies in coping with China’s Digital Healthcare system.

 

Director explains Imsight’s extensive strategic plans thanks to China’s flexible responses in AI 

“Being a Startup ourselves,” Chapman said, “The announcement of GBA development regarding as an open door policy attracts IT innovation onto medical systems, favors the use of AI technology into medical imaging.” The Chinese Govt. has been promoting the use of the Internet and other AI-included technologies allowing medical institutions to leverage and extend the reach of healthcare services.

Compared with the return-focused investment atmosphere in HK, products that require long-term research and development and clinical testing are more suitable for raising funds in the Mainland. In addition, there are not only private equity funds available, but also some state-led investment, and investors in the industrial chain to promote innovations and renewal in the industry.

HK as the portal to enter the overseas market

“While our Shenzhen Subsidiary keeps their eye on Mainland’s market,” Lee said, “Hong Kong is a great platform for Startups to enter the rest of the world due to the great compatibility on both regulatory and profession levels in between two markets.”
